Attraction is a natural phenomena to be pulled towards aspects of one that were denied.
In one's life, sexuality naturally arises around the age of 14, i.e. around that age we feel the sexual energy flowing in the body and around the age of 42, it naturally disappears.
The whole process of sexual energy is natural.
Living in a society where sex is denied or repressed based on a belief that there is something wrong if you have sex.
Then growing up the person develops a sexual shame but sex is a natural phenomena and hence all natural things shall be given to body so as to live a healthy life for example food, water, air.
As growing up in such a society the person develops an obsession to sex because of the denial or repression but there is a sexual shame also!
As a natural phenomena, suppression of one's desire requires energy and in young life i.e. 20's and 30's it's easy to suppress, but as one gets old the energy decreases, hence suppression of that desire is difficult.
As already mentioned, attraction arises from denial, a person in mid 40's or above denied from sex is going to be attracted to sex because there is not much energy to supress that desire anymore.
Hence as a easy target they are attracted to kids, who are innocent to understand what happened to them.
It's easy to blame a person or society that creates such experiences and desires but difficult part is to understand where the person is coming from.
With time as more empathy comes, I hope more solutions also follow to eradicate the root cause problem of sexual repression in society, rather a repression creating a traumatic experience for young children by a pedophile!
